Send files between devices
Pick your files and pass the link to whoever needs them. Files travel directly between browsers and never sit on our servers, not even briefly.
Open file transferHow it works
- Files travel directly between two browsers, bypassing our server
- Content is encrypted with a key held in the link, which the server never receives
- An interrupted transfer resumes where it stopped instead of starting over
- Only one recipient can join a link; a third party is turned away
Questions
- Are files uploaded to your server?
- No. Only the introduction between two browsers goes through the server; the files themselves travel directly between them. We physically cannot read them.
- Can I close the tab during a transfer?
- No. The connection lives inside the page and closing the tab drops it. If that happens, the transfer resumes where it stopped rather than starting again.
- Is there a file size limit?
- We impose none, because files never pass through our server. The practical limit is the tab memory on the receiving side.
