Description

This dataset was developed to provide data values needed to estimate increased residential housing values associated with increased green space (natural, forested riparian buffers, or stormwater BMP green infrastructure) at the HUC12 scale based on meta-analysis results from Mazotta et al. (2014). Data are broken down by NLCD developed land-use class and provided for the full watershed or distance from riparian zone (0 to 250 meters or 250 to 500 meters). Data types include housing unit density (based on building footprint density and housing units/building in census blocks) and the inverse, mean area per single or duplex family housing unit or mean area per building, as proxies for parcel size, percent canopy cover over developed land-use classes as a proxy for green space, population density, and distance from riparian zone of streams, rivers and connected water bodies. Weights were assigned to only include buildings in housing unit calculations if there were 0.5 - 2 buildings/housing unit, the expected range for single family or duplex unit residential areas (with some detached garages). If housing unit density is within the range of 0.5 - 2 x building density, then parcel…
