SSL certificate checker
Enter a domain to see its SSL certificate: when it expires, who issued it, whether the chain is complete and which domains it covers. Useful after installing or renewing a certificate, or when a browser shows a security warning. We check the standard HTTPS port 443.
Try:
We check the standard HTTPS port 443 only.
What it shows
- Expiry date and how many days are left.
- Issuer (certificate authority).
- The certificate chain: are intermediate certificates in place?
- The domains the certificate covers, including wildcards.
Questions
- Why does the browser say the certificate is not trusted?
- The most common causes are an expired certificate, a certificate for a different domain, or a missing intermediate certificate in the chain. The checker shows all three.
- How do I know when my certificate expires?
- The result shows the expiry date and the days left. Free certificates such as Let's Encrypt last 90 days and are usually renewed automatically. If the date is close, check that the renewal works.
- Does a certificate for example.com cover www.example.com?
- Only if www.example.com, or a wildcard *.example.com, is in the list of domains. The checker shows that list.
- Can I check a port other than 443?
- Not yet: we check the standard HTTPS port 443.
