Questions
- How do I check if my VPN is working?
- Turn the VPN on and reload this page. Your IP should change, and the provider usually becomes a hosting or VPN company. If you still see your home provider, traffic is not going through the VPN.
- What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
- They are two versions of the internet address. IPv4 looks like 203.0.113.5, IPv6 is longer, like 2001:db8::1. Many connections have both. Then sites see one or the other, so we show both.
- Why is the city wrong?
- The city is estimated from your IP address by Cloudflare and is only approximate. With mobile internet, a corporate network, a VPN or a proxy it can show another city or even another country. For other IP addresses we show only the country where the network is registered.
- Is it safe to show my IP?
- An IP reveals your provider and roughly your region, but gives no access to your device. Sites you visit see it anyway. We don't store it.
